It seems Epic Games wants to assure players that it will still be offering the mobile version of Fortnite for fans on Android platforms, sending an email to those who’ve downloaded the game through Google Play that better explains what happens next. According to the publisher, Fortnite will still be playable through the Epic Games Store Android app, which can be accessed by going to Fortnite.com/Android. Epic’s cited reason for the latest update not coming to Apple platforms is that, “Apple is blocking Fortnite updates and new installs on the App Store, and has said they will terminate our ability to develop Fortnite for Apple devices.” The message Epic wants to convey is that Epic wants to provide update for users on Apple devices, but that it’s Apple’s fault for preventing Epic from doing so. Although Microsoft’s strict approach to indie games has been heavily criticised by the indie dev community, other publishers have taken a refreshing approach. Ubisoft allows its developers time aside from its major titles to work on personal projects, in a move that has resulted in such games as Child of Light and the recent Grow Home....
