The Epic Games Store has already been updated to reflect the upcoming holiday free game giveaway. This week’s free games include Pillars of Eternity: Deluxe Edition and Tyranny. However, the teaser for next week’s game coming on the 17 is left mysterious. Instead of a piece of art for the game, there’s a box with wrapping paper and a bow. In place of a name, it reads “Mystery Game.”

The Mystery Game listed on the Epic Games Store will be the first free game for Epic’s Holiday Sale giveaway. Once this week’s games expire, they will be replaced with yet more mystery boxes. Each day, another present from Epic and its partners will be opened, and PC gamers will be able to pick them up entirely for free. If the schedule is accurate, a free game will be delivered each day all the way up to December 31.
Epic’s plans going into 2021 remain a mystery. It’s possible that Epic will continue to offer free weekly games like it has been, but it’s also possible that it extends its daily free game giveaway into the new year. That’s what it has done before. Another possibility is that Epic discontinues the practice. There’s no promise that free games will continue into 2021.
To say that Epic Games has been generous with its free game giveaways would be an understatement. Epic users who have been acquiring its weekly games should have a library with dozens of games without having spent a single dollar. Epic gets a lot out of it too, as the Epic Games Store has grown rapidly since it launched.
There is some fine print when it comes to the Epic Game Store Holiday Sale 15 Days of Free Games. The games will only be available for their given 24 hours, and once the time is up they’ll be taken down and replaced with the next game. Epic Games Store users will have to check out the store every day if they don’t want to miss out.
The Epic Game Store’s Holiday Sale begins December 17.
