In the post, Epic Games confirms that the weekly free games on the Epic Games Store will continue for the rest of 2022. It states the weekly free games on the Epic Games Store were made possible due to Epic Games’ collaboration with the various video game developers and publishers last year. This allowed it to give away 89 free games.
Along with continuing the weekly free games, the post provides details on the other things being added or improved on the Epic Games Store in 2022. It states that the shipped the Epic Achievements feature from 2021 was the first step in helping flesh out player profiles for the Epic Game Store - mainly by having the profiles let players see all of their achievements in one place and tracking their playtime across their library.
In response to player feedback on Library and Download management, Epic Games will be actively addressing those issues in 2022 - things such as the ability to “prioritize and queue selected games for downloads” and providing more options to help players filter and organize their library. Epic Games plans to add much more to the Epic Games Store, including community features, expanding the Epic Wallet to the rest of the world, and more.
The post also provides a list of some anticipated video games coming to the Epic Games Store in 2022 that players can look forward to seeing. There’s Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Saints Row, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The rest on the list includes the upcoming Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Forspoken, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Sifu, Rumbleverse, and Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin coming to the Epic Games Store this year.
