As many already know, Epic Games Store is releasing at least one major title per week for the entire month of March. The games are available to download for a few days via access to gamers’ Epic Games Store account, which is also free to sign up. Afterward, players are allowed to keep their free game for as long as they want.

Watch Dogs released in May of 2014 to middling acclaim, but lasting interest. Many fans were beyond excited when the first official trailer for the game launched at E3 in 2013. Initially stunned by graphics and intrigued by the hacker storyline the game looked like it was going to be the new Assassin’s Creed.

However, this game was not for everyone and quickly drew criticism for its downgraded graphics and a standard sandbox experience. However, Watch Dogs was the genesis of the hacking series and is definitely worth picking up to prepare for the third game in the series Watch Dog Legion.

The second game to be released is an insane indie title that only until two years ago could be fully completed. The Stanley Parable is a game hard to explain without ruining some of the plot, or lack of plot. The game is a bit of a complex dichotomy that both requires you to play and not play. It’s essentially a game to break games, allowing the player to have the true choice of how they direct their avatar either against or following directions.

The game was originally designed as a Half-Life mod, but also has themes reminiscent to Portal as the character discovers more about the story as the character navigates the world. Needless to say, The Stanley Parable is a fascinating title to grab while players can if only to get a head start on the 5-year achievement.

Epic Games Store will continue releasing games for the rest of year, even after a strange turf war broke out between them and Steam. Whether or not the free games are still boosting sales for Epic, and cutting revenue for Steam is still yet to be seen. Until then, gamers can enjoy the free releases for the next few weeks.
