Since Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is still only a few days old: the other guy depicted in the picture with Thor is Eivor. He’s a Viking that doubles as an assassin, and he’ll be the character that players take control of in the new game. Players will be able to choose a female version of the character as well.

Some may recognize the dynamic poses Thor and Eivor have in the photo, and that’s because they come from official promotions of their creative mediums. Ultraraw26, the person who created and posted the artwork to Instagram, cut the two images of the two characters from their respective advertisements, made a few edits, and then joined them together to create the epic piece here.
The image of Thor comes from a movie poster of Thor: The Dark World, the second film in Thor’s soon-to-be Quadrilogy. Here, in this picture, Ultraraw 26 mirrored Thor to face the opposite direction, and then edited him to look more like his Thor: Ragnarok incarnation by filling his eyes with the same lightning he commands.
As for Eivor, he comes from a piece of Valhalla artwork that sees him leading a charge against England’s forces. Nothing much was done differently with him. He was only cut out of the image and tilted so that it looks like he’s springing up to meet Thor. Thor was also slightly tilted so that it looks like he’s falling into Eivor.
While the cut together picture presents an extremely cool visual, it’s hard not to think about how one-sided a fight like this would end up being. Eivor might be a Viking with assassin training, but Thor is an actual god, one that once tanked a concentrated blast from a dying star. It’s just not at all fair.
Its possible Eivor will pull off some spectacular and noteworthy feats of his own when Assassin’s Creed Valhalla rolls around. But it’s improbable they’ll put him anywhere close to the son of the god he worshipers. On an offtopic note, Kratos from God of War versus Thor would probably be something to behold.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla releases Holiday 2020 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
